Investors have turned their attention to Rotterdam. One such young Amsterdam investor approached P·A for advice to transform two historic buildings to his own Rotterdam home and cost-effective rental spaces. P·A investigated various scenarios and concluded that a mix of flexible office space on the ground floor and rental accommodation underneath a luxurious penthouse would best suit the clients' needs.
We have worked alongside our client to transform two adjacent canal houses in Rotterdam's historic Delfshaven, into one multifunctional, future proof complex with two spacious one bedroom rental apartments and ground floor office space which generates long term income. On the upper two floors is the clients' luxurious two-floor, two bedroom penthouse with roof deck. Joining the two canal houses on the upper second and third floors created an unusually broad living space which accommodates various functions: office, guest accommodation, workout room, and living and dining. On the first floor, two apartments with a spacious roof terrace provide high quality guest or rental accommodation in a city with a housing shortage.
The ground floor houses office space with restrooms, meeting rooms and an outdoor terrace, as well as parking for the principal occupant. All of these features ensure that investment into the property is relevant for the market in the long term, and both comfortable and attractive for current occupation.
